STANDING IN THE GAP FOR AMERICA ON HER 250TH ANNIVERSARY

Day 8 (Sunday, 10/4/26) -- Stay with the King (#2) - Trust God's word
"And take...the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;"(Ephesians 6:17b)
Since the Resurrection, the Christians' day of worship has been the first day of the week. Jesus did not abandon believers after His Resurrection and Ascension. He sent His Holy Spirit and continues to insert Himself in history. Our challenge is to spend time in His word so we can better recognize His voice. Today's verse commands us to carry the Sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. We can carry our Bibles in our hands in the form of a book, phone, or iPad. However, the best way to carry the word of God, is in our minds as we read, learn, and memorize what it says. Do not abandon the God who promises to cause all things to work together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Rom. 8:28). Stay with the King and add Bible study to truth, righteousness, witnessing, faith, and hope.
Prayer: "Jesus, I worship You today. You rose on the first day of the week. You are worthy of honor and glory. Help me to put on Your full armor to stand against the forces that want to discount who You are and discourage me from trusting that I will receive strength from knowing that I can do all things through You. You are at work! Help us, Your church, to join You in Your work."
