STANDING IN THE GAP FOR AMERICA ON HER 250TH ANNIVERSARY

Day 4 (Wednesday, 9/30/26) -- Be careful not to sacrifice righteousness
"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you" (Matthew 6:33)....put on the breastplate of righteousness... (Ephesians 6:14).
It is easy to lose our life of love. Political campaigns have caused television and radio personalities to instill in us hatred toward those we oppose. Jesus did not teach us to hate perceived enemies; He taught us to love our enemies. The rhetoric that surrounds elections has become polarizing and is teaching us to hate the other side instead of praying for them. When we seek God's righteousness first, it causes us to pray, and we begin to learn that prayer changes people. Additionally, by putting on the breastplate of righteousness we are guarding our spiritual hearts the same way the breastplate of armor guarded the soldier’s physical heart. Yesterday we put on the belt of truth. Today, let's pray on the breastplate of righteousness.
Prayer: "God, I want to seek first Your righteousness. I do not want my spiritual control center (my heart) to fall into the hands of the enemy. We are going through difficult days in the life of America. We need Your healing to help Your people of faith to differ but not allow the actions of the ungodly to make a difference in how we act. You are righteous, Holy God. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You" (from 2 Chronicles 20:12).
