Over 250 people are participating in 40 Days of Community small groups on Sunday nights! As a point of reference, that's very close to the attendance we once ran for Sunday morning worship attendance, just seven years ago! Already, one young man has been saved by God's grace, another young man has surrendered to preach the Gospel, an atheist has been engaged for Christ's sake, and there are scores of folks who are not a part of the Body of Christ here that are connected to a small group from our church! Praise the Lord for His gracious work through His people!
Each of the 24 small groups has a mission project where they are moving out to engage our communities in Christian love. Each group chooses their ministry. Groups are opportunities like helping needy families, crisis pregnancy centers, nursing homes, follow-up with unchurched families who come to our Hallelujah Night (October 31), and more! It's thrilling to work together with the Lord and each other to carry His love to someone who really needs it!
But here's one big opportunity we can all get in on! We are planning a special outreach and ministry meal for our Brazilian community. There are over 200 Brazilians in our area, many of whom have great needs, and remain unreached and unchurched. God has put some pieces together in recent days for us to build a bridge of love and care for these people that are increasingly becoming a part of our local culture. We are targeting Saturday, November 18 for this special time. More information is forthcoming as we plan this huge outreach event! Begin praying now for what God will do for His glory as we continue to be salt and light!
