Online Worldview Quiz

The following online test is designed to help you understand how you relate to and interpret the world around you. Select the answer to each question that best represents your view.

What do you believe about God and the universe?

God has always been and will always be. He is someone we can get to know. He is not limited by matter or the universe and is always close by. He knows everything, is good, and is the final authority in all things.
God created the universe but then left it to run on its own. He is thus not close by and is not someone we can get to know. He does not interact in human affairs.
Matter exists eternally and is all there is. God does not exist. The belief in God results from superstition.
There is no God.
The soul of each and every human being is the soul of the cosmos (universe).
You are god. As human beings realize this, they will evolve to the next level. Everything is god.

What is the nature of the world around us?

God created everything out of nothing. He set it up to follow natural laws but it is an open system (meaning that God can and does interact with it causing real miracles that defy natural laws to happen).
The cosmos (universe) God created always follows natural laws and is a closed system (meaning that nothing ever violates natural laws, thus no miracle is possible).
The cosmos (universe) exists, always follows natural laws and is a closed system. God had nothing to do with it (he does not exist).
The cosmos (universe) is composed solely of matter, but to human beings reality appears in two forms - subjective and objective.
Some things are more than others.
The cosmos (universe), while unified in the self is manifested in two dimensions: the visible universe, accessible through ordinary consciousness and the invisible universe, accessible only through altered states of consciousness.

What is a human being?

Human beings are created in the image of God which means they have personality, intelligence, morality, creativity, they can go beyond themselves and their environment, and they have relationships with other human beings.
Human beings, though personal, are a part of the cause and effect of the universe.
Human beings are complex machines. Personality is a chemical reaction that we do not fully understand. Humans are highly evolved animals.
Human beings are complex "machines". Personality is a chemical reaction that we do not fully understand. Human beings live a meaningless existence.
Human beings make themselves who they are.
Human beings are personal beings who, when they come to full consciousness, find themselves in an alien universe.
Human beings must pass beyond personality and realize they are one with the cosmos (universe)
Human beings are spiritual beings who are gods.

What is human nature?

Human beings were created good, but through disobedience to God fell into a nature that chooses to disobey God (this is called the Fall or fallen). Through the work of Christ, God redeemed humanity, though any given person may choose to reject that redemption.
Since there is no God, there is no fall and human beings are basically good.
Human beings are basically good.
Human beings are not fallen, but need a transformation of consciousness to reach his full potential.

Why is it possible to know anything at all?

Human beings can know the world around them and God because God has built into them the capacity to do so and because He takes an active role in communicating with them.
We can know the universe and we can determine what God is like by studying it.
We know through the world of cause and effect. We know through experience using the scientific method.
It is not possible to know for sure.
To realize one's oneness with the cosmos is to pass beyond knowledge.
In the cosmic consciousness, space, time and morality tend to disappear.

What happens to a person at death?

For each person, death is either the gate to life with God and His people or the gate to eternal separation from the only thing that will ultimately fulfill human aspirations.
For each person, death is either the gate to heaven or the gate to hell depending on how good the person was while he was alive.
Death is extinction of personality and individuality.
Death is the end of individual, personal existence, but it changes nothing essential in an individual's nature.
Physical death is not the end of self. Death is an illusion, the entrance to the next life.

How do we know right from wrong?

Right and wrong is based on a standard that goes beyond humans and is based on the character of God as good.
Right and wrong is limited to general revelation. Because the universe is normal, it reveals what is right.
Right and wrong is related only to human beings.
There is no knowable standard.
Each human being must decided what is right and wrong for himself.
To realize one's oneness with the cosmos (universe) is to pass beyond good and evil, right and wrong.
Right and wrong are relative and truth is attained through altered states.

What is the meaning of human history?

History is linear (has a beginning and an end), a meaningful sequence of events leading to the fulfillment of God's purposes for humanity.
History is linear (has a beginning and an end), for the course of the cosmos (universe) was determined at creation.
History is a linear (has a beginning and an end) stream of events linked by cause and effect but without an overarching purpose.
History as a record of events is uncertain and unimportant, but history as a model or type or myth to be made present and lived is of supreme importance.
To realize one's oneness with the cosmos is to pass beyond time. History is cyclical (has no beginning and no end).
